The Wildhearts rip money from my wallet far too often
Today I purchased the P.H.U.Q. special edition re-release from 2010 for a fair £8.
It’s only £8…but it got me thinking about how much I’ve invested in The Wildhearts stuff again over the last three years, how I’ve pumped £50 into Ginger’s upcoming Pledge triple album set & DVD, and generally all the singles etc…
Still, a CD set with one or two b-sides I haven’t heard must be worth £8, right?! Convince me so, World! I never regret the spending (I did for a few Suede singles back in the day, and Manic Street Preachers, and The Damned, and…oh fuck…) given once the music is here I tend to relisten to albums 100 times before having an overall rating in my head, but y’know…sometimes maybe I think I should start reading the ever expanding 300 books and 3000 essays I have lying in a cupboard beside my bed instead of browsing amazon, EIL, and ebay these days. 1 book read every 2 weeks is a far call from my former literate twattery of yesteryear.
I do this for 100 other bands to be fair, the misery of being a CD purchasing music addict is that he never has enough money for food or this seasons fashion…*puts on waistcoat and fantastic blouse* I’ll see you all on the other side, where we’ll all be poor and have houses made of broken CD cases, and the roof off double cassette cases bonded together with super glue, and the fashion idea of Derelict*.
